Excellent Book on Modelling history. Out of the 7 chapters, only one covers R/C, so many other items are discussed. This book does not cover everything about all items, but no one book could. It does a remarkable job of covering many subjects, with a lot of excellent color photographs. It is great for research.

If you want to learn about the history of our hobby/sport, this is a fabulous book to have.

Disclaimer: I do not know James Johnson, and paid full price ($28.00) for the book.

Thanks De for the nice write up. I tried my best to cover an variety of subjects in a limited space due to the contract I signed with the publisher that would keep the readers interest. In the RC section it is actually very thin on photos(23). Collecting RC gear is on the up swing but there are very few collectors competing for stuff that was expensive to begin with. I have access to several collectors and their collections to do for sure three more books about collecting model aviation memorabilia. Amazing how the snow ball keeps getting bigger. The biggest request I get is for an all engine book, engines remain the backbone for many collector/modelers. I personally have way too many. Jim Johnson

Shucks DE, you don't have to be so modest (LOL). I've ordered one for myself and one for a gift for a long time friend. I'm looking forward to getting mine. I am somewhat of a collector myself.

It's high time to stop & smell the balsa.

I agree completely; my copy arrived last week. I haven't had time to READ it, but I have skimmed it, and there's a LOT of good info.

I ordered one for a friend, but haven't heard from him yet. Sure hope he liked it . . .
