Dremel router attachment

The router attachment is handy for me when inlaying aluminum engine bearers and inlaying blind nuts on profile airplanes. This is is one attachment to a rotary tool that will always be handy in my workshop. Also there must be other uses for this attachment. SteveD.

I agree. Handy as hel- but does not get used very offen.

I bought one of these a month or so ago. I built a little table for it and the first thing I did was to notch leading and trailing edges for a scratch built Ringmaster Sportster. This was after I ripped the stock on the table saw, but that's another story. I made the tool from 3/32" music wire and my bench grinder. I measured the rib stock first then ground the OD of the wire to about .003" under. With that done I carfully ground it away on on side until I had a cutting edge. Then I ground the end at a clearance angle. Running fast and moving carefully this made beautiful clean parts.

I also made a small fixture to mount on the router attachment so I could do the inletting for the hinges on the Saber Stunt I'm building. I used to do this free hand with the Dremel, but the fixture speeds it up alot and does such a perfect job. With some creative thinking you can do allot with these tools.
