Other than a name which prompts interesting comments and questions, Carl Shoup's replacement for the piston end of 5-ounce syringes is a pretty cool deal.
I bought one at the NW Regionals without hesitation. I mean, how do you refuse a big guy in a chair wheeling around selling modeling stuff? It was so pitiful I would have given him ten bucks just to go away. Instead, I got an upgrade for my syringe and a dollar in change. And he still went away, although I think Carl was headed for PTG.
These things are a real good buy, turning what used to be a disposable tool, one bound to fail during a contest, or merely to push crud from an aged rubber piston into a fuel tank into something which will last a long time. And at the end of this period is easily rebuildable.
