I was able to find shrink tubing at a local electronics supply store. Not a chain store, a little mom-and-pop hole-in-the-wall. A whole length of it cost me maybe 26 cents, and lasts practically forever. The LHS wanted something like $1.65 for three two-inch lengths in a bag...
