ENGINE REBUILD

Passing this info on to you just to let you know where to go if you need a rebuild. The following was sent to me by Frank Bowman in reference to 1 new ST 51 (China) and 1 used ST 51 and a used ST 60 and a used ST 46. As in the passed Frank takes care of you!!! GREAT GUY!!!

Hi Greg, I got 3 engines rebuilt, waiting for another front bearing for the
46. The wristpin in the 60 was broken in half when I removed it. I had an
X60 good used Wrist pin that I installed teflon pads in an installed it,
same diameter & length as V60. The X60 only has a hole on one end so I
placed a pad on the other end during assembly. Also I dis-assembled new G51
Chinese engine & found everything good except inner bottom rod bearing
wasn't counter sunk for clearance on crank pin so I counter sunk bearing &
replaced ring as well. I cleaned & lubed crank bearings & used them as they
are good. The bottom bearing on the other G51 was worn egg shaped. So when I
pressed old bushing out I discovered bearing hole in rod was egged as well.
I reamed it out slightly larger & made new bearing for it. It is good now
and not clicking when you turn engine over.I lapped all 4 liner tops, new 51
& 60 were not flat but are now. Bearing should be here tomorrow & will
finish 46 & mail engines. Do you want them in 2 packages? Take Care, Frank

I have sent Frank several classic Tigers ( 46's and 60's ) for rebuild and have been delighted with his service and his friendly attitude.

He won't do any work that is unnecessary but will make sure that by the time you get your engines back, they are 'done right'.

One of my ST-40s suffered a crash back in the 80's. It ran fine and I never realized that the crank was bent untill I got it back from Mr. Bowman with a note explaining that he checked the engine, found the bent crank and straightened it for me!

Frank works on an amazing number of different engines and you'll save real money over a replacment. Ask for his service info. An SASE would probably be apperciated.
