Be aware: DuBro plastic spinners have a very thick hub. There may not be enough prop shaft length to safely thread the prop nut. I had to ream out the prop and use a Fox shaft extension nut.

I know the Brodak 40 has a really short prop stud. I even have problems with the Great Planes Plastic Spinner/Aluminum backplate spinner and the Brodak 40. I will probably do the same thing you did--ream out the prop and use an adapter nut.

I am agreeing with Alan on this. The back plate on the DuBro spinners is quite thin, actually. Ron didn't state which engine he had and that would be important, but we never saw a problem with either OS or Fox engines in using the DuBro spinners and actually found them to be a very good and inexpensive plastic spinner for the person who does not want to invest in the more expensive (and heavier) aluminum spinners. I would think Ron's problem was the engine, not the spinner.

The little hub adaptors that Dubro supply to suit different shaft diameters are 0.15" thick.
I found that with a Master Airscrew 7 x 4 and a 1 1/2" Dubro spinner I could not get any thread engagement on an OS FP10 so the model doesn't get a spinner.

OK, this gets us off of what a real product review is, but if the engine doesn't have enough threads to cover another .015 inch, then I would not blame the spinner. Especially if there is no thread engagement at all. That means you would only have .015 thread engegement at best without it. A thinner front washer might help--not solve the problem, but I would blame the prop as number one. The engine apparently is designed for a thinner wood prop and that is what is going to be needed. ANY spinner with a backplate is going to fail in this situation. ANY spinner. Don't blame the DuBro spinner specifically.
