A few months ago Brian Gardner left a message on here and said he would be making ABC liner and piston sets for the ST/46 if he had enough interest.He made some and I got mine last week and I installed the set in a motor that I had been using for twenty years.I will tell you this is a perfect combination.The motor has all the great running qualities that it is famous for, but now has a stronger four cycle and uses less fuel 4.75 ounces to do the pattern. I used a Hemi head on mine as Brian told me the first one he put together was over compressed with the stock head. I ran eight ounces of fuel through it on the test stand and it would hold a lean setting with out getting hot and slowing down and it started on the first flip. On the first flight it flew as if it was a well broken in motor. I put two motors together and on the first one the wrist pin fitted tight and I removed the pin and relieved the hole so the pin would fit correct.On the second the pin would not go in until I relieved the hole for a proper fit.Brian set the pistons up this way so if you have a older worn wrist pin it will not be loose.Brian is having Hemi heads made for those that want them.If you have a mint condition 46 that runs strong then I would not make the change but if your motors are like mine and have been rebuilt many times this is a great update and it's like a brand new motor.
