New SAITO .40

After around 10 flights on "The Plane", this appears to be one fantastic engine. So far, it does everything right and nothing wrong. I broke it in according to the manual, re-adjusted the valves and then began flying it. As I recall, it has started on the first flip almost every time. It's been turning a Master Airscrew 11-6 plastic and pulling a ~50 ounce plane with no problem at all.
At this point, I'll say that this will probably become one of my all-time favorite engine, along with my SAITO .30 and my Fox .35.
Windy has the .40 in stock but they could well be in short supply as more people discover them.

Could you please elaborate on your set up? Like glow plug, fuel, launch rpm, size of fuel tank, what type of venting, muffler pressure, etc. I appreciate your work wtih 4-strokes and I am considering getting one of these engines. Thank you,

Crist - sorry for taking so long to respond - my oversight.
Regarding your questions on the SAITO .40: Now, with more flights, I like it much more.
I broke it in on Powermaster GMA 5% nitro, 22% (50/50) lube and an 11-5 wood prop. I used the plug that came with the engine. I used the tach only to monitor the break-in RPM. When I flew "The Plane", I had to change to the 11-6 M.A. Also, I found that muffler pressure and 10% nitro improved performance. I used a 4 ounce clunk tank without uniflow. I mounted the tank at first with long side horizontal, then vertical. The latter was better. The more time on the engine, the better and more economically it runs. I cannot comment on launch RPM as I do not use a tach.
I have decided to put the .40 in Windy's .40 size Cardinal.
As a sidenote, I spoke to a number of people at Brodak's who had the .40 - everyone likes this engine. Go out and buy one!! (I believe Windy stocks them)
