Saito .65 4s

What can someone tell me about the Saito .65 four stroker? I have an opportunity to get one real cheap from my daughter.

I would pass on the .65. It's close in power to the .56 at more weight. My first SAITO was it's smaller brother - the .40, an early closed rocker engine. It was smooth and very user friendly but pulled my Euclid with less authority than the original engine, an OS .35S. I doubt that the .65 would make the power of a good 2S .46. BUT, if you need a nice RC sport engine, just charm your daughter out of it.

Thanks. Can you believe it, she put it on ebay before I got back to her with my decision. She's worse than her father!! Well, at least she can fly control line and free flight and win.

Bob, that's not the same Euclid I saw flying in Toronto circa 1970 is it?

Hi, Chuck - nope, the original was wrecked in 1970 while flying with Mike Haravitch in his backyard. The engine quit just as I started the wingover. The one I fly now is the Euclid II, same plane but with two minor changes: "C" tube wing and fuselage mounted gear. Heavier than the original but flies much better - it now has an OS Surpass .40 4 stroke.
