Windy's Videos

I recently purchased and viewed two tapes in Windy's Spitfire series on cockpit detailing and canopy installation. I must say these tapes are absolutely excellent! The man is a genius and and we are certainly fortunate to have someone with his building and teaching skills who is willing to share such otherwise elusive techniques. Windy makes the task look so easy and doing a nice job on the focal point of a stunt model sets it apart from the others.

Highly recommended! PS: Windy's service was also first class.

I especially like those videos of his with the Italian Opera in the background. However, not being from New Jersey, it took me ten minutes of one tape to realize what he meant when he kept using the term "grims". I finally figured out it meant "grams". I razzed him at Brodaks and he took uncomplimentary videos of me, so we are even. Ha. You need to go through his tapes at least three times as there is so much info he talks about. I have tried several of his techniques for finishing and my planes do look much better. Final analysis is get his tapes.

Yes he does. That's how I found what I was looking for. Just click on "videos" at the top of his home page, then select "video Library" and you will get a menu of each series available. Then click on the appropriate title for a detailed list of all videos within a particular series.

OK, What "videos" at the top of his home page? I see only "home", "online store", "prostunt club" and the "about" tabs.

The "videos" hotlink appears on the next line directly under "online store" when I bring up Windy's homepage, and it works for me as previously described. I am replying from a computer in the Holliday Inn in Hampton VA. The videos link also works the same from my home computer a million miles away.

Have you tried refreshing your screen and waiting a while longer for the page to fully load?

I think the opera music is for inprirational purposes. After all, Windy is usually busy creating a new masterpiece.

Windy is the main man!
A while back, I tried to file an application for his nomination to the AMA Hall of Fame. I guess other people were looking into that also. Windy is responsible for what is called a paradigm shift. He has instituted a fundamental change in the way in which we develope skill and expertise in what is a very difficult hobby/sport. Before, a "season vet" would take you under his wing and you would hang out in his workshop learning the "ropes". Windy essntially took us all into his workshop. The first time I viewed his tapes, I said to myself that this guy should get some sort of medal or recognition for what he doing. I have been a fan of his ever since.

I recently ordered a muffler from Windy. He enclosed his B-25 video tape, which I have just returned to him. I took the video to our recent club meeting and played about 20 minutes of it.

Windy is certainly an asset to our hobby. I don't understand how he can do so much, when I have a lot of trouble just staying even!
