The Stuka Stunt is getting close.

This is a picture of my Stuka Stunt as it nears completions. This is the plane I plan to take to VSC in March along with the Humongous. This has been a lot of work for me, as I have said before I am not the best builder in the world. I have set a budget of at least one hour a day since I started. Whenever I have missed a day I made the time up the next day. So far I have managed to keep my schedule. See you at VSC.

Yep it's the RSM kit, and the engine will be a box stock Fox .35. I was talking to Eric Rule (Mr. RSM) and he mentioned that Tucson (home of VSC) is up about 2500 feet. I may switch to a Fox .35 with the factory ABC piston and line and the Hemi head so I can run modern fuel with higher nitro content. The only pure castor 29% fuel I have found is only 5% nitro. That could be a problem at 2500 feet. Anyway it will have a Fox .35 one way or another. I will take some additional pictures as things develope.

Choosing the "zoot" version Fox is a good idea if flying at Tucson. I believe the actual field height ASL is 2,300-plus. It's not unusual to see people using 15% nitro here.

Well for what it is worth here is my RSM Stuka Stunt ready for flight. I just need to add some weight to the weight box in the wing and fly it. I wish it looked as good in person as it does in the picture. All them blurred pixels hide a lot of mistakes. Be that as it may, I hope to fly it at VSC in March. Hope to get some trim and test flights in first thing next weekend. Larry if you are reading this lets plan for next week end buddy, I need your exellent help more than ever.

To all the people who sent back kind words of encouragment thanks a bunch, there were times I wanted to pack it in.

One odd thing to note, to get the spinner to fit I had to take an eighth of an inch off the engine prop shaft. I figured the worst that could happen was I would need to order up a new crank shaft, I have a backup Fox 35 if it had become necessary.

I may be able to do Saturday, and certainly Sunday. Also I have a well run-in L&J Fox I can loan you if needed, plus one I hopped up myself. Also a nice selection of "FOX feed" in a few flavors of Nitro level.

If you decide to come to VSC with the stock Fox, there is usually fuel available at the site. The Excaliber fuel guys from Phoenix usually have a complete stock including 15%nitro, 28% castor. If they don't show, I have a gallon or so. Unless something changes, I won't be using a Fox this year. My plan is Johnson power. For the Johnsons, I use 5% nitro and 25% castor. If you need more power for here, you're welcome to borrow one of my Larry Foster Foxes to get you through VSC.

Hi Andy, your plane turned out excellent, thanks for sharing the picture of it. I scratch built a Don Still about a year ago and am using a Fox .35 in mine. If you get the chance post some more pics of this awesome plane.
