This might be useful to someone. I made this up to help me decide which covering to use on different models.

My opinion on covering films. Out of all the films Solarfim is the best for adhesion. Go with the lighter colours like Whites and Yellows as they reflect the light and won't sag in the sun.

What about Profilm Warren?

I only ever bought 1 roll of Profilm and didnt like it. It seemed very rigid and didn't seem to stick very well. I dont have any details about the weight sorry.

Thanks. The two-to-one difference in weight between white and clear Monokote is interesting. I remember that white Solarfilm is a lot heavier than red Solarfilm. I used to cover combat planes with white, but switched to red after I weighed them. I got some fluorescent yellow Solarfilm, but it was only useful as tip weight.

Lightweight Polyspan, 18 grams/sq. meter, vs. 30 gms. for regular Polyspan (as told by a usually reliable source).

Lightweight Polyspan is reportedly available from Michael J. Woodhouse, 12 Marston Lane, Norfolk NR4 6L2, United Kingdom. No personal experience here, but it's been reported that USD$25.00 sent to the above will bring a 4x1 meter swatch, folded in a large brown envelope.

Don't forget to add in the weight of the dope to seal the covering and the paint to finish it.
