And speaking of Hollywood, has anyone else seen the Secure Horizons healthcare commercial? They must be targeting pilots and modelers! The thing went on forever---I learned more about preflighting planes, how to plot a course on a sectional, appropriate maneuvers in a light plane---on and on. Oh, and there was a big model biplane in the hanger next to all the man-sized stuff. That commercial would definitely be on my "super bowl" list!

#2 sourceDon't know about that, but if the average stunt flyer had Simon Cowell judging, he or she would likely soon take up a somewhat less strenuous pasttime --- perhaps alligator wrestling.

I think that clown Simon would have still warm pipes sticking out of various places if he were to venture out as a stunt judge.
We are a "Gentlemen's" sport (apologies to the ladies) where honour and discretion are part of the game.
Simone (spelling intentional) has neither.
Now Paula there's somebody that needs to see a great (change to level flight from a vertical dive)....

I can't sit through five seconds of those "contest" shows where the judges spend 10 minutes critiqing a 3-minute act.
I like the dog shows. The judge just points at the winner and doesn't say a word.
That might work at our contests. Forget the numbers and just post the winner.

However, I have watched all the tornado, volcano, airplane, automobile, how it's made and UFO footage on the "science" channels again and again. That and F1 on Speed Channel. It's what an old man does.. ;->

Obviously it isn't necessary to watch the show in order to know who those three are.
Personally, my TV viewing tastes lean toward The History Channel and---whenever they're aired---"Major League" and "My Cousin Vinnie" on any movie channel.

#8 sourceUncle Mikey, I guess I am a dyed in the wool red neck. Besides model planes, NASCAR and NHRA on the various channels take up my time. I love to record the shows. One race was over 4 hours longs and I reduced it to 2 and 3/4 hours. Also like CSI as well as Law Iand Order. in no particular order the channels are Speed, History, Science and USA.
