Aero Gloss dope source

I'm coming to the last quart in my gallon cans of Aero Gloss clear and thinner.

So....does anyone know of a mailorder source of, in a perfect world, another gallon of clear and another gallon of thinner? Or quarts? Maybe even pints? I suspect I'm looking for stock-on-hand somewhere. Outside of the vendor trade, if anyone has any in a hoard and thinks they won't be using it, I'd be grateful for a chance to adopt it.

A local LHS has a couple of 3.5-ounce jars of clear and thinner, and I'm not sure whether it's compatible with the Pactra stuff I have, and anyway, single malt Scotch is cheaper.

Well, you may be out of luck. It has been a very, very, very long time since Aerogloss dope was made. There may be some scattered sources around, but it will be very old.

You might consider switching to Certified or Randolph's dope. It's still readily available and for that matter, still made.

Aero Gloss is currently or at least recently made, by Midwest...the folks that make the incredibly heavy and expensive balsa they sell at the local R/C shop. I'd look for their website, to see if they still make it, but from what's been written here on SSW, it's not very good (brittle/cracks), and it's also not compatible with the old stuff from our youth. Garry say's that Midwest is dropping a lot of Aero-gloss and what is made now is a different formula and is not compattible with the OLD. I don,t know how you could know except for the packinging.

aero gloss is a gonner--the old story-kids eat paint-paint has lead--out law lead paint-discover kids eat paint because of vitamin deffency(in economicly depressed areas with poor diet)give kids vitamins.
do we get our lead back--heck no not with the monkeys we elect.
i dont think model airplanes are built in economicly depressed areas.

last time i checked with current owner of pactra line-they had some white aero gloss left.i think is was jet white(semi gloss?)

i could use a quart of swift white if anyone has and dont need?

The loss of Aero Gloss was a slap on the wrist. I can learn to live with Randolph.

Hobby Poxy was a stake through the heart. Nothing like it !!
