If anyone is interested, I have about 12 miles of .010 Inconel wire. Very strong at high temps and extremely corrosion resistant. It can take a good deal of tension. It does have more resistance than steel, so the max bow length on 24 volts is about 30 in. or so.

If you please, what kind of power would be required to drive a 30 inch bow for cutting. I am interested as I want to try to learn to cut wings and such.

After years of running round in circles at the Rat Race Now I run around in circles for fun, go figure
I'm using a 36 in. piece of wire. The power supply is a Radio Shack 24 volt 2 amp transformer directly across the wire. I use alligator clips at each end of the wire and slide one along the wire to adjust the heat.
Nice thing about Inconel, besides the corrosion resistance, is it really doesn't lose any strength until it gets red hot, so you can stretch it pretty tight for better cuts.
