Converting Tower Hobbies Fun 51 Kit to control line

Has anyone considered converting Tower Hobbies Fun 51 Kit .35-50,44",Special Stock# LXJA64
to control line? Il lookd very doable with little effort

Yep, it's easy and they fly ok. I put a 40 FP in mine and at 50 oz it will pull real good. Gonna stick a 35 FP in it this year just for grins and see how it does.

Any advice on exactly where to situate the bellcrank & leadouts?

I put my B/C so I'd have a straight shot to the flaps and from flaps to Elevator. Leadout spacing 1/2 to 3/4", you might have to trim toward the tips because of the sheer webbing.

One member of our club, Scott Richlen, converted a Tower P-51 to C/L, he did alot of mods to it. It was (is) a huge success, just ask him! Flies very well, now if he can just make up his mind what prop to use, I can relax while he is flying instead of timing his laps! Scott was talking about getting a set of plans drawn for it, hope he does, it really is a nice plane. [photo not recovered: sipcof.gif]
