A friend of mine mentioned I should post this here. Hi my name is Mike Willcox and I am a control line combat guy. I import world class combat ships for many of the top notch f2d pilots in the world from the Ukraine. I was over at their factory last October and saw that they have some guys making stunt planes as well. The quality is world class. This plane also breaks down into a nice box that they hand made for it. This model comes with a motor and some extra parts that you can see in one of the photos. If your interested you can email me if you have any questions. I think they are asking about $1700 (plus shipping). I am attaching a link to the photos and a link to a video of the factory when we were there in October.
thanks, MIKE [email protected]

Mike,

Those are very nice planes. I like the molding.

I have watched many of your videos. What does Emo stand for?

Hi Doug
Great to hear from you. Actually its a long story, but i'll give you the short version and not many people know either version. In 1988 I went with the control line team to the World Champs Kiev, Russia which at that time was Russia. I was about 16 at that time. We started coming up with nicknames for each others and one of the combat guys (Richard Stubblefield) called me MikeEmo which got dropped to EMO and its kind of just stuck from then. IN Russia Richard was actually calling me EMOski.

Mike,

All is well. Last time we talked I think I was just dating Stevie and I think you were living in Plano? Well we are married now 8 years with three kids, wow time flys!

That is a good story I bet you have 100s more like it too. All those trips to fly in the WCs do you still get nervous? HHAHAHAHAAA!!

Do you ever fly in Dallas?

>Wow how time does fly. I was in Plano about that time. I left there and went to LA for a few years then back to Dallas. I was living there in Farmers Branch for about two years, but now I have been back in Houston for the about the last year.
Sometimes I fly in Dallas. I have a few good buddies that go out there pretty often to Garland.... Lester Haury and Allen DeVeuve.
YEs we have plenty of stories from the World Champs and our trips over there.
Do you guys fly very often? I guess you have a brother that flys as well?

Mike,

I try to get to garland as often as possible but with 3 kids under the age of 4.5 years it is tough. Even though I only live 3 miles from the field. My brother is out there pretty often as well. There is a pretty good amount of guys there on a regular basis every weekend the winds arent blasting. Which will be now until mid June Probably. My brother and I leave our stuff, accept the planes, in our car so we can haul A-ss to the field for some late evening flights if the winds lay down for even a moment. August evenings are great. Hot but great flying weather. I have seen more and more combat guys out there over the past couple of years. I like to see that. The 1/2 A ones are awesome!

Thanks for the pointers Howard..... I know where all the great places for test flying in France are! If there is any questions I am sure the contest organizers will be happy to tell me where I can fly!

Hi Mike,
Congrats on all your combat success.
The Stunt ship looks good. Do you have any more specific info on it such as size (wing area Sq In) weight, and engine size? Do you know who specifically makes the engines?
I was surprised to see my old friend Allen D. in the video. He looks like he's getting enough grey hair to qualify as a "Stunt Flier" now.

Randy,
one of the pictures in the album is a drawing with some data: Wingspan ~ 55 in, wing area ~ 640 in.sq, weight ~ 47.5 oz, engine says "modified Raduga-7". The orignal Raduga-7 (0.42 cu.in. displacement) was one of the few mass-produced engines in the USSR. It was plain bearing, Schnuerle ported engine, and generally of terrible quality, some to the point of unable to start under any conditions.
I'm sure the "modified" here means that only crankcase was used, with all internals made to proper quality and fits, although I don't know who the engine builder is.
Note that this is a much smaller plane than that flown and sold by Yatsenko's, and at least wing construction appears to be traditional built-up wood (as opposed to composite, molded); it is also about half the price.
However, considering the features and quality, I'd say it's a terrific use of that tax rebate IRS is sending us in May.

Thanks Mike,
I guess I missed that info in the pictures the first time around.

Hi Randy thanks for the congrats. There is a sketch on that link with the posting. IF you can't see it there send me your email and i'll send you a bigger file of the sketchl. Only problem is it is metric. The engine on it is has a Raduga case, but all the parts are hand made at the same factory where the plane was built and you can see the tools in the video. Don't let Allen fool you with the grey hair he still flys great combat.

Pretty cool stuff there EMO. I find it interesting that with all the "interesting" A/C that are built there, and American F-18 is the poster on the wall!

Hey Paul..This is a nice forum you guys have. Glad you found the stuff pretty interesting. Yeah you would be surprised what you find on the walls over there. We were standing there taking photos and there was a really nice calendar from last year that was mostly made up of photos me and our U.S. combat team in 2002 in Germany.
So are you ready for France?

Just waiting for some practice weather.
I have 4 fully take apart planes (ones that go as checked luggage)that I could use. 1 is brand new, and still untrimmed, 1 finished 3rd in the 2006 WC's, 1 finished 8th (can't remember exactly...when you get that low, you don't want to remember) and 1 as won 2 US Nats and 2 US Team Trials. I'm leaning towards the 2006 plane right now.

Paul.... I think you need to take that B 29 Bomber back over there and I know of a great field you can practice in not far from the actual flying field.
