letra set rub on markings

Where can you get the rub on transfers that say no step , caution exhaust etc access panels scale type makings that rub off and can Be doped over ? Help ?

Back in the day Tom Lay provided them to the stunt community. They are no longer available from him as computer generated decals have taken over. Art stores still stock the individul rub-on letters in various sizes. Getting them to line up correctly is a challange. Also, try and get fresh ones as they dry out and can be difficult to transfer to balsa without making an indentation...OUCH!

I believe that a good trick is to rub them onto the printer decal paper, seal with clear and then water slide onto the model then you get the best od both worlds

Thanks guys I emailed them both. My next Job is going to be my best so far ,I want to do panel lines shading chipped paint and every other trick in the book . Any detailing thoughts and resources would be greatly appreciated

The decal paper trick works good, the best thing is to call Kyle at Tanks hangar and have him cut Laser stencils to size, saying anything you like and then paint them on. The problem with letra sets is the rubbing, the decal paper trick lets you do the rubbing on the desk and not on your airplane. Good luck

Tanks is belly up . the funster said vinyl graphics has put them out of business. Nothing from Randy yet.
What I have found is that is alive and well is making scrap books. also fingernails. Model trains has plenty to offer as well. For some reason I am having no luck yet with aircraft markings.

1/32nd and 1/24th scale jet nomanclature water slide sets are available from some plastic kit hobby shops. I have a bunch of sheets of them and they have a lot of small lettering and stuff. The larger scale have larger letters.
If you find letraset or rub-ons of some kind, I also echo the use of decal paper; rub them onto decal paper, brush decal film over the finished product and then water slide it on the model. After clear and rub-out there are no edges visible.
