Well,I could have tacked this onto the end of my previous post, but I
think this deserves special mention - my $195 order from FOX turned up in the mail today, and NO charge was made for shipping! This amounted to $11.95 plus the cost of the padded bag. They may be too
occupied to answer emails, but that kind of service is second to none,
so Full Marks to FOX and may they endure for another 60 years! BOB

I certainly hope so. I want a 100th anniversary Fox .35 stunt for my 81st birthday in 2048. On current inflationary trends it'll be a bargain at $1000.

Hey Colin, you're just a spring chicken - I'll be 101 in 40 years time! Now,working backwards - I have here a copy of an Aussie magazine called Hobbies Illustrated dated Nov. 1952. In it,there appears an advert. for the new "SABRE 49" priced at 7 Pounds and 5 Shillings - how much is that in todays money? It may mean that exponentially,in 40 years time, that FOX 35 could cost you SEVERAL thousand dollars. My advice is -buy one now while they're cheap! BOB

I got my first Stunt 35 in 1955. It cost $14.95. According to the US Government's Consumer Price Index calculator
( http://data.bls.gov/cgi-bin/cpicalc.pl ), $14.95 in 1955 is $119.95 in 2008. The Stunt 35 lists for $98.95, so it costs less now than it did 53 years ago, even with a muffler! If you factor in FOx's 50% trade in discount, they are about the 1959 price of a Babe Bee!

My first Cox reedie - a Babe Bee - was $12.95 in 1981. PAW 19DS later that year was $38. No idea what the OS MAX-S .35 my grandfather gave me cost 'though.

BUT - the engines which I always coveted (and at last finally have) were Enyas. I had, and still have, a model plane book which features on one page a black & white photo of the entire Enya line of engines from .09 through to .60, C/L and R/C versions. I'll have to look and see if the 29-IV and 35-III in the photo are the square or round venturi type. The same book also has a full page colour photo of one of Al Rabe's mustangs flying inverted.

Heh, already did buy a Fox .35, just because I want one and they are an icon. Not an anniversary special or anything, just a plain vanilla one off Ebay, but its a good one. I'll probably end up putting it in a Bi-Slob.

cheers,
Colin
