I've noticed a lot of post on this forum and others asking for information about out of production engines, for example gasket thicknesses, manuals, recommended fuels, etc. It seems there should be a central archive where manuals, parts lists, and other information could be compiled to help keep our older engines up and running. If such an archive does not exist, perhaps such an archive could be started by this forum? Thus if anyone had information to offer, it could be placed in the archive for others to access.

Not trying to be a wise acre but won't the search function perform this task presently? Not opposed to this idea just curious as to why it wouldn't already be possible to get this information out of the standard archive.

I think it would be a good idea if someone would actually take the time to put it together.
Try doing a search for 40 FP or LA 46 or MCOY,, you will have to wade through so many posts that mention it to find the nuggets you need. Yes I can see a benefit in it. IOW I dont want to read about 75 airplanes that had mcoy 35 on them to find out what prop to run, or fuel to use or what head shim diameter is. (though at times when I have time its fun to do)

These guys know all about older engines. Mac's makes gasket material for their header pipes. This workks fine on Mccoy/Johnson's/ K&B grennies. Manila envelopes work good on backplate gaskets. IE; Johnson/ Fox/ K&B/ Veco etc. Glow fuel 25% castor/ 10% nitro gets you in the ball park. .35-.40 size engine for uc stunt 10/6 prop. .46 11/6 woodie. APC props stink as far as In my book for older engines. ST V.60 12/6-13/5. Smaller engines I use what I have.
