The Fox .049 guy

Somewhere in the U.S. there's a guy who offers reconditioned Fox .049s, which seem to be ideal for the Musciano 1/2A events. Anyone know his name and current E-address?

PS; These are not reconditioned engines; they are made from new Fox Factory (mostly) parts.

What's the difference between the two versions? And are both acceptable for the "Musciano hollow log" events?

Mike: The FAI version definitely is not Musciano Meet legal for the Hollow Log events, per the rules (of course, any engine is legal in the Unlimited portion).

The FAI version is ported differently, and has more power. It is easy to spot, just by looking at it from a front view. The ports are cut at an unusual angle.

Please note that there are two versions of the legal Fox .049. The 1962 one has a removal prop screw and washer (easily lost), while the 1964 version has a standard fixed prop screw, and most notably has horizontal "flutes" on the case. There are some other minor changes. This latter engine arguably has a bit more power. You can interchange parts between the two.

Here are pictures of all 3 Fox .049s. Lot of guys mistake the shiny case 1964 engine for the FAI, but as you can see they are very different. Take a look at the exhaust ports on the FAI; trapezoidal and nothing like the rectangular ports on the others. The FAI also has a much larger shaft and a matte case. Should be easy to see the differences with these pictures.
