Proud Dad!

Third try to post today, hope this one is a charm...

Today we had an absolutely beautiful morning for flying up in Reno. I woke up my 10 year old son early, and told him today is the day we will take his Flying Clown out to the field for its maiden flight, and his too. I took the plane off for him, and to my surprise it flew pretty darn good right off of the bench. The Thunder Tiger 10 GP ran well, and pulled the plane around with power to spare. I handed him the handle and guided his hand for about 10 laps. After that, he flew it on his own, and had a lot of fun doing so. He flew twice today, and brought his airplane home in one piece. His interest is in learning stunt, and my gut tells me he will become a much better pilot than I ever will be. One more young person has entered the circle helping to ensure our sport/hobby will stay alive. I am a proud Dad to say the least.

Neat! I also like the flying site - is that the only green grass in a 20 mile radius?

Yeah, not much green up here in the high desert Brett. However, the flying site we have is great, and our club is well organized thanks to some very dedicated people. We actually fly on county property with permission! My hat is off to the person/persons in our club that make this happen. Being a Bay Area boy myself, flying up here at 5000+ feet above sea level presents its challenges, but we sure have fun.
