Victor Stanzel "Baby V Shark.
Modelcraft "VEE-GEE" speed model.

I have communicated with a fellow in Arkansas and he reports he has these olds kits vintage perhaps 40s. I'm not familiar with them or know if these would be of interest to anyone. Heck, I'm not totally sure he would sell them. Should I ask?

There are people who collect old kits. The older, the rarer, the better. So, yes, they are of value. How much, I don't know. If you had an idea of possible worth, you could list them for sale here on the forum. I don't know how many true collectors there are here, though. Most are flyers. Otherwise, there is e-bay.

I believe most of the Stanzel kits are still available from Stanzel Bro's, in Schulenberg Texas. They were still selling them at least a year ago or so.

While some of those old Stanzel kits are still available from their museum in Schulenberg, TX, they're going fast, and are of great value to collectors.

The Baby V Shark is a favorite of S.C.'s Doug Taffinder. It was one of the early "G-Line" designs. I made a small painting of one of those for Doug a couple of years ago (copy attached). You might want to contact him privately regarding the availability of those kits:

I suspect there may also be some interest shown by Tulsa's De Hill, recently inducted as an AMA Fellow, an avid CL historian, and one of the nicest guys in the hobby:

(edited to correct D. Taffinder's e-address.)

John,
I may potentially be interested. I am attempting to replicate two of my dads models from the 40s. I have been told that one of them based upon the pictures may have been a Stanzel shark.

As I said I'm not interested nor know the guy. He listed some stuff on RCGroups with one being an old c/l engine so I asked via PM what else he had and learned about these. He didn't actually say he wanted to sell.

Shoot me your email and I'll pass it along to him and then you 2 can see where it goes.
