Evolution C/L motors shipping today!

I have been informed that the Evolution .36 Control Line engines are now shipping and that so far sales have been good.

Anyone get theirs yet?

Just got back from vacation, and my Evo 36 was waiting! Neat engine! It came with the large venturi installed. Have to figure how to change that to the small one. Also have to figure how to modify the rear NVA setup because it would break off on a profile real quick the way it comes. Probably will also have to install an R/C long hot plug. Must say, it does seem a little heavy.
Anyway, I am very glad to have it. Can't really believe yet that it comes with a tongue muffler and 2 extra venturis at no extra cost. Now if I can just get it set up and running the way I want it....

I'm pretty much of a klutz, but I found changing the venturi to be pretty simple. Take the fuel tubing off of the nipple at the venturi. Remove the fuel nipple from the venturi using a 7 mm wrench. Using the small Allen key, loosen the venturi retaining bolt to back off the beveled inserts/retainers in the hole behind the venturi. You might have to wiggle the venturi just a little to break it free, but don't try to turn or otherwise force the venturi to move. When the beveled retainers are backed off enough the venturi slides out very easily. Take out the large venturi, pop in the one you want to substitute, and reverse the above process to reassemble. Just make sure that you have the beveled portions of the venturi retainers against the venturi before you tighten the retaining bolt.

I have not run mine yet but I am very eager to do so. Good luck with yours.

The Pony Express rider just dropped mine off in Tucson. It is going into my old ARF Primary Force today and I hope to fly it Saturday. There is nothing in the instructions about a formal break-in so I'm planning to treat it like I do my OS FP engines - a couple of runs on the ground then fly.

I got mine yesterday, looks very good, weighs about 2 oz. more than my Brodak .40 but if it runs as good as it looks you can't beat the price.

Mine arrived about 1pm. Looks good.
