Anyone tell me I can get 4-6lb balsa now Lone Star is no more
tried Specialized Balsa in CO. but no reply

You can try this place - Nelson is well known in RC circles for a lot of years. I've not bought any of his wood. He is new as a balsa supplier.

I just picked up some balsa from Nelson Hobbies and it is good stuff. He weighs each individual piece of sheet wood and color marks it. Green all the way across the end is 6# wood. If it is less than 6#, he marks a red stripe in the middle. Other pieces are graded in 1 pound increments up to about 10# stock. I am very happy with his wood, it is accurate dimensionally. The real deal for me was that I had to drive about 55 miles to Riley's whereas Gerry's shop is about 5 miles so I save a bunch of time and gas now. I go in and cherry pick the wood I want and then we go have lunch at Judge Roy Bean's.

Nelson sounds good I'll give it a try , sure would like to try the lunch too but 18 hours on the flying Kangaroo would spoil the appetite.

Thanks for the PR Greg but Jim already has an order with me (which I've got to talk to him about). The only drugs I do is dope, brushed on 60/40 with thinners

I tried to find a link to Tom Dixon. The only one I could find made no mention of balsa and indicated you can't email him or phone him most of the time. Does he have another website?

Unless things have changed best way to contact him is via snail mail. He is quick in replying, however his handwriting isn't the easiest to read.

I went to SIG factories in Iowa and they have nice 4-6 lbs balsa ("contest balsa") also. They go through a lot of wood, so they might be quite good source.

Balsa USA is said to be good also.

That's Right !

They want good wood but don't want to pay for good good. Sig has always been the best wood at any price . What they want is good wood cheap ! HA !
