An inspirational view

Driving to the NATS L pad at 6:30 AM Thursday morning I saw this view and was taken back by the beauty of it. A flyer, Crist Rigotti, was practicing for the day's competition. The silhouette of the flyer and his flying machine against the background of the morning sun's rays and the clouds really touched me. Think of me as a sentimental fool if you must but I thought others might also enjoy this picture. I think it captures part of the spirit and joy of our hobby. The 50k maximum size limits the clarity a bit but I think the posted picture still looks OK. Enjoy.

PS to add;
Reminds me of our early days at VSC. getting to the field before sun up, putting our lines on by flashlight, so that at the first possible minute we could get some trim and practice flights in. After 14 years stuck on second shift, flying is about the only thing that can get me out of bed that early anymore

Too bad you can't see the flying lines would really complete the photo.

That's pretty much the view that greeted us each morning last week. Nice and calm, too. Almost needed to check the map to be certain we were actually in Muncie . . .

It's a great photo, I hope it will find good use to promote CL Stunt. It must have effected me at the subconscious level, last night I had a dream wherein I watched a stunter sharply enter a wingover, fly overhead (perfectly), ascend vertically and pull out smooth at 5' elevation, and remember thinking "magnificent!". I don't know WHO was flying, I went somewhere completely different afterward, where pretty women with very few clothes were after me.. ;-> Yes, indeed it was a FANTASY, so I know someone else was flying that one.

PS - I like those craggy mountain peaks in the background fog.. ;->

I finally got the photo to work on our website (not entirely sure why!)...please feel free to download it from there (saving Dennis some hassle!), and look around the rest of the site. It ain't fancy, but it loads pretty quick, at least, I think so. Some of the links on the home page will take awhile to load, but they're worth the wait, IMO. Steve
