When and where?

OK, guys, I keep hearing about the McMinnville gathering, but no mention of times and dates.

Then ther're the California contests. No mention about them in the announcments either.

I'm trying to decide where I will be spending the $ on gas.

So far it's going to be the Golden state only since I haven't found out about any others within range.

Sunday August 3--- Walt Ghio's and Dick Myers's ARF contest--- Mavis Henson Field in Woodland, CA---I believe it is a standard skill class contest but with ARFS

August 16-17---Ted Goyet Memorial (also run by Walt Ghio and Dick Myers)---Mavis Henson Field, Woodland, CA---Pampa classes, Old Time, Classic and I believe Profile 40 (or profile unlimited???)

September 21-22---Meet 'n Meat Fall Classic---Mavis Henson Field, Woodland, CA---CD: Jim Aron---Pampa Classes, Old Time , Classic AND THE FOX 15 HURL!!!

October 5---Napa Valley Vintage Stunt Regional---Kennedy Park, Napa, CA---CD: Jim Aron---Old Time, Classic and Jr. Classic

Oh man, I want to go to all of them. Thanks for the info guys. Now I have to figure gas and travel time. McMinville is a priority.

October 25-26 in Clovis

hey John, so you dont have to make the trip twice, or three times, I am sure we could find some shops and garages you could sleep in while your out here,,
Mcminnville is definetly one to gotta go to,,, its a blast,, beautifull setting, the Spruce Goose, lots of other planes around,, and they have a Bf 109 too!!!

we usually camp out under the trees and Saturday is a potluck share time, its fun, lots of good flying, see you there!

John, I want to see a statement as to the **certainty** of you being in McMinnville this year.

If not I will have to list the many very good reasons for you to come up.

Then Jim Aaron will see the need to go north and it could get real ugly, real fast.

You are wise to want such certainty. It seems I've flaked out on several contests this year due to the increasing costs of attending.

I've heard such good things about McMinnville, the museum alone is worth the trip, and a pot luck with the campers just begs me to attend. A case of my local spirits, a few dutch ovens, All thrown into and around a contest with many of my favorite people. The only thing that can keep me away is accident, sicknes, or totally busted.

I plan on trying to convince Gordy to attend. We can bopth have fun, and save a little cash by sharing.

I'll be there but probably sleeping in the back of my car. No problem, I'll bring a foam pad and sleeping bag. There is just enough room back there. Hey, there are toliets and showers available on site. WhooHoo!
