Flying Models Magazine??

Hi All,...

Just wondering if anyone knows if Carstens Publications or Flying Models Magazine is "all right"?? I haven't received an issue of FM for quite some time and the local hobby shop still has the March '09 issue on the magazine rack. I would think the May '09 or at least the April '09 issues would be on the news stands by now.

I hope everything is all right with the magazine. That's one magazine I hate to loose!!

When I was at WRAMs last month I stopped at their booth to renew my subscription- I have since had the transaction shown on my cc statement. I asked the nice lady if there was any risk about their continuing to publish given whats going on with the economy- she reassured me that the magazine would continue.
Hope we can get some flying weather soon- I had one day last weekend to fly my Smoothie up here in Albany. Hope to see you this season down in Conn.

My "Top Hat" is in the March '09 issue. I have received the April issue. The May issue should be out about the 1st week of April.

If you are not getting yours.. give them a call.

My hobby shop is still waiting for the new issue of Flying Models. They are usually on the shelf around the first of the month, but are a no show this month.

I left an E-Mail to the editor and he said they had a production problem and that we would get the April issue shortly.

I ordered the Top Hat plans in Feb. and they were out of paper, just got them a week ago.

I received my March issue just as always, and renewed my subscription. It is still not April.
Oh by the way use this to get to them the others are people selling every other magazine. Flying Models warned us about this.

Since the economy is going the way it is, do you suppose they had to decrease their staff and we need to expect things to take longer?

Still no FM, but my April MA arrived yesterday.

I know that FM is still taking articles for publication. That shows me a healthy sign. They have been very good to work with, and look for The Pathfinder LE article in May, and later Gordan's Tony.

Flying models is still one of the best publications out there for modeling. Let's remain supportive, and keep our subscriptions up. I believe they will be around for some time yet.

I received my MA yesterday as well it appears to have turned into another RCM catalog.

I subscribed to support the all color move. I suspect FM never boomed with all the huge hovering weed whackers and jets so now they won't bust.

Did you renew thru someone other than Carstens? The FM web site warns us about some scams that offer discounts that are not legit! I just received an offer from another nameed site that offers a discount. ART

The last issue of FLYING MODELS that I've received is the March 2009 issue.

I phoned FLYING MODELS a few minutes ago, the very kind lady told me that F.M. had some production problems and that the April 2009 issue is in the mail, if I've not received it by Monday, 13 April 2009, to please phone them again.

She also told me that this problem could continue for a few months more.

As I told her, FLYING MODELS is the BEST model airplane being published today and that it well worth the wait.

That's good to hear Ken. My last received issue was also March, I emailed them last week but have not received an answer. I'll now wait till next week to call.
