Weight of the models? What is the ideal?

Today, as the second day of April, we will then return to seriousness.
I have always been of the opinion that our models should not be too light or too heavy - I believe that each one has to have the ideal weight. A very light aircraft, possibly can be, in my view, the influence of adverse weather conditions. The heavier you can become an anchor for the engine.
I would like to see and hear the opinions of friends.

I don't have a good answer just what my personal experience has been. I have flown ships from 11 to over 14 ounce wing loading. My best wind airplane (so far) is the heaviest but it also has the engine to pull it. Not sure if I would have the same opinion if I had this power package in a lighter airplane.

Hi Elizio, You are going to see this said at a later date. Yes there is an ideal weight for a given model. There is also a rule that NO one can build too light a plane. The reason is that one can add weight to a light model but you will never be able to take weight away from a heavy one.

Wing loading is the secret. Keep the wing loading at 10oz per square foot and you will always have a light plane no matter how much it actually weighs. RJ

Spin 72 - Saito 72: 2.000 g
Super Tucano - Saito 72: 1.800 g
FW 190 - Saito 7 : 2.000 g

Tom Dixon has given the advice that your model should weigh what the displacement of your engine will be, thus a Fox 35 would attempt to set a goal of a 35 ounce model. Many factors are involved with this scenario.
