SUPER WHIPSAW PLANS

I RECENTLY MADE a purchase from e bay the guy was selling 30 sets of plans from mostly the 60s I think, well it was a false sale they were cut up plans and many things missing. I made this purchase for my father. He has given me the gift of being a scratch builder and has helped me out in this wonderful hobby, also in r/c. I had heard him mention the super whipsaw many times. Well half the plans were there but half does not help you build. So my question is does anybody have the full plans for this kit? Also my dad is looking for full plans to the WOW. If anybody can help which I am sure somebody can, it would be most valuable to me and my father.

I don't see the Whipsaw, only the Super Whipsaw. Whipsaw was the smaller version.

Blue Sky Models still offers a kit of the Wow I think in case he doesn't want to scratchbuild.

You can get a really nice laser cut kit of the "WOW" from Tom Niebuhr at Blue Sky Models. I have one that I built a few years ago with an O.S. LA.25, it's a perfect combo and a blast to fly.

I have a nicely done kit of the Whipsaw done from pat's plans. I'm glad that some people are making it possible for a lot of us to relive our youth, Even better, the engines are better and we know a little more then we did then, and can get these things to work better then when we were teenagers.

Ditto to reliving our youth. I've always liked the snazzy looks of the Super Whipsaw, but I'm wondering if that high-mounted tank would work. 1/8" up or down on my profile tanks makes a big difference. One alternative used with success around here on Flite Streaks is a Hayes clunk tank mounted on the inboard side of the nose. Seems weird but works like a charm.

As to the tank mounted high, forget it and do either the tank on the inboard side or as I did when I was a lot younger a bladder in a tube on the side of the fuse.
The Stinger, also available from Barry Baxters plans, was the improved version of the Whipsaw and had the tank mounted on a platform in the wing and it was a decent flyer when I had mine.
While I don't think that many of them were ever used in combat the Enterprise and ambroid kits were endless fodder for us in our misspent youth.

Amazing! Fuel systems are sometimes the source of hard-to-explain surprises. Practice trumps theory.

Sorry to hear those plans were a bust. I was interested & almost bid on them. I have enjoyed Barry Baxter's plans. I have a small stack of his plans that I need to get started building.
