Merco .29 query

Hi, fellas...

Anyone know if the Merco .29 R/C engine had different timing that the C/L version?
Also, any chance someone has an aluminum venturi for this R/C type? It has a set screw in the left side of the intake casting.
It's for one of my British B/Team racers...(semi-authentic resto)

I have a C/L Merco 29. The case has a cast-in venturi, not an ali insert to replace the R/C carb.
I can do a quick exh timing check if that's any use. Alternatively you can have the complete engine (very little useage)- with or without silencer-for the price of the Royal Mail postage.

My memory is that the engines built in the late 80's used different timing for RC and CL. CL engines had milder timing and from what I understand were based on work done by Scott Bair.

Of course 20+ year old memories have been known to contain innacuracies.

The 29 and 35 stunt and R/C have the same timing.
The 61 SS was designed after reading Scott Bair's article. This is the engine with the single rear plug.
