Finishing up a new plane always puts me in the best of moods.

'Honey, the HOA just put a lien on the house.' Who cares?!

'Dear, I may have dinged the Mercedes.' So what?!

The world revolves around me and my new love.

LOL It's the same with me...only my wife helps build, so it's a shared experience.

No chance of dinging the BMW Coupe. (I have the engine out at the moment!)

But that fresh new airplane gets us BOTH thrilled! Beautiful job, BTW

Thanks Mike, I don't actually have a Mercedes, I was just trying to paint a picture of the blissful ignorance felt during the honeymoon period when a new plane is finished and flown for the first time.

For a few precious days all the problems of life get put on the back burner.

Looks nice Bill. I'm sure it'll be a good flyer.

"Specks on the model?"

It's an Imitation designed by Ted Fancher back in the late seventies. A lot of ink on this plane. the R&D Ted did, and then shared with us, with his original is significant and should be required reading to anyone interested in CLPA. Can't recommend "The Imitation Papers" enough, available through PAMPA.

About 630 sq.in., 58 oz., Hacker A30-12XL w/50amp speed controller (~650 watts) 12-6 or 13-4.5 APC props.

Or were you talking about overspray or dirt specks? Yes, there is some red overspray from my quick and inadequate masking job.

I just finished putting my box of sticks together to resemble a Sterling S-1 Ringmaster, and was disapointed in the end results. [photo not recovered: cry.gif] I had some overspray paint on my Polyspan, because the Blue Masking Tape didn't adhere to the covering. My spray gun air pressure must have lifted the tape ever so slightly to overspray. I'll be using standard masking tape on Polyspan now on. PS: Great looking plane!
