Enya 29 IV

Will someone tell me where I can buy parts for a 30 year NIB Enya 29 IV Model 5224. This is an RC engine and I am specifically looking for the plane venturi. They made three sizes back in 1970. Before you ask why do I want to fool with this engine.....well it is because I want to.

Bob: By "plane" venturi, I'm assuming that you want the smallest one, correct?

The 5224 Enya 29/35s are quite common, and you should have no trouble finding parts. I might be able to help out, but will have to check. Currell

Bob, I think Enya had two front housings at various times, the first accepting a 'square' venturi, the second accepting a round one. I have neither to offer to share, but perhaps clarifying which is needed might help scare up the right one for you. I suspect that he 'square' one will need to be an OEM part, but I think the round one can be fabricated by Someone We Know if you were to ask him about it.

I have several enya 35's and 29's. both use the same front
housing. However early models had square intakes later ones
had the round ones. I have inserts for both.
Let me know which you are looking for.

I also have a enya 29 (C/L w/ square intake) and I need the insert that goes in the intake and a needle valve, any help would be greatly appreciated.

The intake is square. I must have the older model. By "plane intake" I mean using just a NVA and taking the RC carb off of it. Must I use the Enya needle valve assembly or with another one (like Super Tigre) work? If it has to be Enya I need a needle valve assemby too. Actually I have the needle that is a part of the RC setup.

I might add that it looked like there were 3 venturi's available. Small, Medium and large. From the insert's comments the small or medium are for CL. The large for racing,combat, etc.
I am interested in CL Stunt. Any advice on setting the engine up would be appreciated.

My Enya .29 has the square intake. It also came with two cylinder heads. You probably want the lower compression head.

As I recall, the 5224 Enyas run pretty well in a sport/stunt mode with the low comp head, and the middle venturi (if this one is all you have). Of course, the smallest one is the most desirable. Currell

I would check with Randy Smith. He is now the US distributor for Enya Engines. I think his phone number is on the stunt hanger forum uinder Engine setups. I just bought a Enya 35 ss from him. He has needle vave assemblies in stock. If it is round venturie I think you can get them from numerous sources.

The square black inserts were also marked with tiny numbers on the top, as 1 (being the smallest),2 and the largest 3. You do not need to use an ENYA nva. BOB

I have a bunch of old Enyas. They are great engines. My old ones were mostly acquired through eBay. I converted a few old unused R/C Enyas by buying used C/L engines and swapping the parts onto the R/C engines. I also sold the R/C carbs on eBay. Ended up with some nice running C/L Enyas. The square venturi models and the round venturi models have both often been available on eBay.

...and available, if only from factory direct. Likely other vendors... Check Randy Smith, the recent handler for ENYAs and their pieces.

You can buy venturi inserts from ENYA at Enya Direct.

There was a #1 vent. recently sold on eBay for $2.25 so they are out there if you scrounge. There's also the BB option for nose cases (ball bearing) that came with the "specials".
3 choices of pressure tap location, strap on or bolt on mufflers, 3 choices of nose cases and .29 or .35 displ.!! Can't go wrong with this series engine.

Randy Smith emailed me in the last week that he has those square venturi's and alot of venturi's for other older Enya engines arrived and in stock. I would think he would be your best bet as I doubt anyone would be willing to sell an intake out of a running engine.

The BB front housing will not fit a standard crankcase unless the crankcase is bored out to accept the ball bearing. The original square, or the "B" round intake front housing will fit. The "B" front housing is easier to make venturi inserts for.
