ST C35 ABC sets

G'day All,

Last year there was some talk of me getting ST C35 ABC sets done like I do for the OS 35-S etc.

Ready to start now on the baffle piston stunt version.

Would people be interested in matching heads for these so they can convert a flat top piston version?

Also happy to the the combat version of the G21 35 too if someone would like to send a good sample engine. The suggestion seemed to be the non periport and smaller exhaust port version was the best version.

Pardon the possibly dumb question, but would this produce a more conservatively timed stunt engine? The flat top version was much too hot when I tried it, even on a very large plane.

Also, would trimming of the case or other parts be required?

The baffle piston version was pretty stunt friendly, much more so than the flat top piston version.

I'm told that the baffle piston parts will be a straight retrofit to a flat top unit.

You would need the head for the conversion. Otherwise it would be a treasure hunt at swap meets or maybe a hacksaw job to cut the slot on a flat top head.

I don't have any experiance stunting the ST but my tact would be to copy the exhast and transfer duration of a Brodak 40 or a Fox 35 stunt. Barring that just err on the low side maybe .020" lower than OEM.

Let me know if you start making conrods for the Fox 35.

Price is the key. I would like a set for the baffle piston ST .35 stunt. Cant see that the flat top versio could be convereted for stunt without other changes also.

The piston / head are interchangeable( flat top / baffled)

Most people 'd go for the liner to.(someting to do wuith fit ! )

The ball race is not as thirty as the bush,
7 minutes Vs. 5 minutes ,on the same tank.

The flat top .35 B.R. runs steady on the 10 x 6 three blade.
with no muffler as we wouldnt want to ruin things with the
sub piston induction.

you probably want 122 Ex. , 115 Int. timing .
Youve got to get around ,I.E. Eliminate ! any opening UNDER the piston for silenced operation.

I will dig out the 21 / 40 and 21 / 46 timing figures .

The B.R. .35 is the same thing, THE NEXT SIZE DOWN .

I envisage that the price for the C35 piston/liner/rod/pin sets would be same as the OS35 was @ $115 Australian. The head for those who need will be extra.

If they are set up for grunt stunt run and no sub piston induction I would go two sets.Any est. on ETA

It will be possibly 2 months before I have them ready for sale.

What's the conversion rate for USA?

What alloy aluminum is the rod made of? Is it bushed?

Does the piston use cir clips or a padded wrist pin?

What's the price without the rod and pin?

Can you buy the rod separatly?

I believe the conversion is US.784 x Australian =$90
US is 1.2740 for each Australian

The rods are bushed both ends.

Haven't checked the sample engines to see if the pins are circlipped or padded. I think I'd rather go with the teflon pads in the stunt version. What's the consensus on the combat version??

Rods will be available seperately, but I'd prefer to keep piston/liner sets inclusive of rods and pins, otherwise it gets messy for me. Remember, this is done more as a favor to the modelling community than as a business proposition.
