Wanted: Super Tigre .56 venturi

A friend of mine is looking for a venturi for his ST.56. He wants a conventional venturi rather than a sprinkler type or fuel-post type (with a nozzle that goes half way across the venturi). The engine currently has a fuel-post type setup and runs very poorly.

I would guess it is either leaking air or the venturi is not sized correctly. A properly done venturi will work just fine with the needle valve where the cam bolt is. With the other you either have to put the needle up high or drill through the case.

Since the fuel post is small and reduces the venturi choke area less than a conventional needle body, what size venturi would you recommend for this engine?

False alarm!

One of our other club members took our friend's ST home, disassembled it, found a glob of schmutz (technical term) somewhere in the fuel system, cleaned it up, and now the engine runs great.
