Seeking Monoline torque unit

Thinkin of building a trainer for monoline- I have the grip / handle- but need to find a torque transfer unit- depending on what i fined I will likely build either 1/2A or A size- could also use B size with a fox 35

I have some monoline stuff still in the original package. The plastic pack is shot and the small box has seen better days, but still closes as a box. Complete unit (class A) handle, rod, controller, and plane unit (Speed Master A). If interested, e-mail me. Package deal only.

If you are looking for a monoline torque unit as opposed to a Stanzel geared monoline unit, contact Marty Higgs (aka Hippy) at [email protected] - he makes excellent monoline torque units at a very reasonibly price and can help you out.

I would highly recommend following Ooffy's advise. Stanzel units are critical to leadout alignment. Plus, they are now quite elderly and might fail the pulltest after you build it into an airplane. That's very discouraging, I promise. Happened to my #1 .29 Proto.

With the H&R-type torque unit, you cannot use as big an elevator, but it will do a fine job of controlling your plane, with much faster response to control input from my experience. Plus, you can tell him what you're going to build, get his recommendation on elevator area, and get a unit made just for your plane size. I hear nothing but good comments about Marty Higgs' workmanship. Steve

I've already emailed Marty Higgs - waiting for response. I agree about original Stanzel type units-they make good collector items but I would be concerned about reliability- prefer to use modern setup- I am familiar with H&R type torque unit- and have Speedmaster style aluminum D grip handle & twist wire saved ftom the days when I played with B speed.
