Anybody cut ribs for $20

I like to get in on that deal. Twice I bought a set of ribs from Bordak for $20. Also Sig used to sell wing kits of their stuff, but you got everything spars, tips, sheeting and it was a good deal.

I would like to get a set of ribs for the Tutor that someone was going to CAD.

Anyone know of any?

The way the exchange rates are going, you could get a lot of Brits interested! Seriously - I can purchase sheet balsa in bulk, shipping is the problem, it would take a lot of ribs to pay for the postage from UK. Maybe 100+ ribs would be my target, taper wings would be viable in large numbers, time for template manufacture is the snag there! I am seriously thinking of going into the kit business anyway, look out!

Have you considered contacting Eric at RSM ?????? he has supplied me with ribs etc and you don't have to send him the balsa he uses good grade material.

That's a great idea. I checked online for RSM and they do cut ribs, but they need a DXF or .JPG format of the ribs.
Anyone out there have them?

Jay, what do you have and is this a constant chord? If you have a rib pattern photo copy it and scan it. If you need a dxf shoot the scan to me and I'll CAD it and shoot it back in dxf to ya. I don't think I'd have time to do a whole taper wing but I can do a couple of ribs in the next day or two. I can work from a scan if it matches the rib pretty close.

The Tutor is a swept back wing style. I have the plans showing the root ribs but that's all. One of the other guys were going to do a CAD or tracings, but never heard anything. I have no way to scan it.

Y'all remember the airfoil program sold (at a very reasonable price) called "Profili"? It produces airfoil output in a .dfx fprmat, and should be able to do the job for you. I can't find my copy just now, but it'll turn up overnight, I'll bet.

If you contact Eric @ RSM you may find he already has the rib patterns you want as he does have alot of both common and uncommon model patterns already just try either emailing him or phoning him at RSM the number is on the website you may be pleasantly surprised, no point in putting roadblocks up for yourself until you know for certain.
