Randy smith Starfire laser kit

Randy has done it again---This Starfire kit is terrific--The wood selection is second to none--All sig contest wood, correct grain to boot.
Randy attention to detail is fantastic on this kit---Everything is there that you need--He even provides a Bolly carbon landing gear--Who does that??
There is carbon veil and glass cloth which just indicates Randy's attention to detail on this kit and all his kits.

You can build his kits as they are to be highly competitive..No replacing wood etc.

I am very pleased with the quality assurance of his kits..Randy sent extra plans and carbon veil no charge..You can build what you choose, his planes are interchangable-GRIN
They fly at most weights, I find them to be extremely straighfoward and user friendly.
Build and compete period!!

What size engine and w/span is it ?

I believe that the "Starfire" is the airplane that Rob Gruber flew at the World Champs in Spain. At least if you can believe the captions and names in the photo's. Looks like a Tempest 2 with a different fuselage/canopy arrangement. I have a Tempest II under construction from one of Randy's very early kits. I've had it around for a number of years. I think it's the first laser cut kit he offered (not my specific kit but the airplane). It is a terrific kit with all the great things mentioned by David in the Starfire kit. Randy's been doing great stuff for a long time.
