Received Don Hutchinson's P-38 plans and was very happy with the work. He states he's not a pro, but I think he is very professional at what he does. The plan also leaves you plenty of room for any mod's you might want to make for yourself. Keep up the good work Don.

Just received my P-38 Plans today also. If these aren't professional I personally know some engineers who should not be working. These are the best I have seen in many a day and I've been around C/L for some 50yrs. My hats off to Don Hutchison for an extremely well done set of plans. Keep up the outstanding work Don.

I received my P-38 plans yesterday and was quite impressed with them also. Can hardly wait to see what Don comes up with next.

The Spitfire, while a beautiful airplane, has a few negatives for a model, 1, The wing would be a little difficult to build (I recently did a T Bird) and 2, The nose is so short that it would require a bunch of lead up front for a good CG. I can only abuse a wing location so much in good conscience.
Otherwise a good choice. I have had no other input so let's wait a while and see what turns up. I keep thinking about the Corsair too, I like to do different kinds of models, it would have the gull wings!

How about a biplane? The F3F-2 would be an interesting choice.

Don,
Actually your on a roll with the twin P-38 so now it's time to do something interesting like the Grumman F5F Skyrocket, or a piper Aztec, or to really get the blood going a DeHavilland D.H Comet
In regards to the F5F I had built Nick Zeroli's and did use 2 wankels with it and it was a great flyer, Also did an 82 inch version with 2 Super Tartan singles which really did live up to the name Skyrocket. Both were RC of course.
If your looking for a bipe then the Hyperbipe is a really neat negative stagger wing straight wing easy to build plane.
How about an Italian Fiat G55 or a Reggianie R2000, I know the spelling is wrong but I just got off work.
Heck even the F8F Bearcat done the same size as Al Rabes but a profile would be neat.
Let your imagionation soar but give us something unique, you know we're all demanding connoisseurs of fine airplanes.

There's been some talk about the possibility of a Corsair. Should that happen, may I suggest the F2G (R4360, bubble canopy version) modified for Thompson Trophy racing in the late 1940s? Specifically, the one seen here...

Don,
I also was very impressed with the P38 plans. They made me want to start building it right away, but I simply have too many projects started already.

For the next plan set how about a nice very "scale like" T34 Profile.
A really nice looking airplane and I've always thought it would make a great stunter with dihedral etc...something around 600-650 sq in.

Don,

Does your P-38 have any dihedral? I've searched the plans and can't find any reference. Can't wait to get started. Lone Star shipped my balsa today!

Oops, I should have that info on the print!! Like I said, I'm not a pro! The P-38 wing does not have dihedral. The real one had a fair amount of it and I like to be as close to the prototype as I can but in this case it would have put the leadouts too high above the vertical CG and the model would thus tend to fly with the right wing high.

I've been nagging Pat Johnston for a .40 sized profile Gee Bee Z, but he's been too busy. A Travelaire Model "R" (aka Mystery Ship), Bearcat, or P-47 Razorback, would also be very cool. I understand there will be a kit soon for a profile Corsair and also a Spitfire. Probably not a good thing to duplicate those efforts, regardless.

I like the P-38 plans, but have some doubts about the LG's for our current field. Steve

Need to know where you live so I will know where to send the plans. If out of the USA will cost a bit more due to postage and having to purchase a mailing tube. Should be about $25 US max.
