I recevied a "short kit" of the Jimi Young Bellanca Viking yesterday, Feb. 16th.
Upon initial inspection, all the parts were very well packaged for shipment, and no damage was present insid eht ebox although the USPS had had some fun with th outsides! Great packing.
The wood is generally better than most of my own stock. All parts are lasr cut consisting of the fuselage sides (two pieces each side, precision laser cut/matched) the wing ribs (with 3/8th" holes for tube jigs, and provision for "Lincoln Log" building) which have "knock out" slots for the lead outs, The plywood forward fuselage bukheads, and plywood fuselage doublers.
All the laser cutting is excellent, the wood selection is excellent. The fullsize plans, plus the original Magazine construction article are included which is a very nice added plus.
For a "short kit" I would give this 5 stars out of a possible 5. Every part that is in the box is as perfect as I can tell. Tom Neibuhr is to be commended for making this happen. It is up to his usual ultra high standards.
