Hi , I imagine I;'ll be repremanded for breaking some rules here but Who cares?
I bought the engine in June 2005 when Randy first anounced they were for sale I just finished the plane for it this February... the plane in an Impact 78ounces very draggy wing. I set the pipe @ 17.75" & run several props ground release is around 9,200 rpm once in the air it really doesn't seem to unload much nor speedup it runs very steady probably the best starting & best running engine I've ever had & I've had a few . This thing is just like what Randy said.. " it likes to be loaded' I'm still searching for the correct prop for this plane . I've tried a series of Eather props 12.5 - 4 , 12.5-5,
3 blades props & several 2 bladers 13-4, 13-4.5 undercamber & wide blades. The other day one prop 13 - 4.5 2blade sounded like a shaft run ( no load) It pulled the plane fair but the right prop is yet to be found I have an Eather 14- 4.5 3blade ready to go tomorrow.
The pipe is an Eather .65 sized the .75 sized pipe won't fit in the plane.
I honestly feel this is far & away superior to my PA .61 & PA .65 no contest. Tons of power. It is a bit heavier than the .65 maybe one ounce making it 12 ounces I'm not 100% sure.
