Enya SS30

I have been using an Enya SS30 to power my RingMaster and this 6.9Oz engine is quite powerful for its size.

I got it directly from my own store www.stunthobby.com but you guys can get it from Randy Smith in the US

It turns an APC 10.5x4.5 and using .015x62' lines I get laps around 4.8s.

It runs in a wet 2 and produces a lot of line tension.

2,5Oz of fuel of 5%-22% will be plenty for the pattern. I use a uniflow tank and it didn't need muffler pressure to get rock steady engine run.

The original muffler is light and works very well, only use a tongue muffler if you really need to balance weight.


I didn't have a chance yet to measure rpms, but as soon as I do, I'll post them here.

The engine comes with the regular click and spring needle, and that works ok, but one click will change quite a few RPMs. I will replace it with an Enya Pro NVA to give me a little more tuning precision.

Perhaps some one saw it flying at Brodaks Intermediary Profile, Classic and OTS. I was 3rd in OTS with it.

Because of the Ring Master Fly A Thon I force my self to fly my RingMaster in a pretty tough windy day. But it was great because I realize how well the RingMaster powered with the Enya SS30 could handle bad air.

For the first time I measured launch RPM and it is 10,000 using the same prop APC 10.5x4.5

As it turns out, I'm running a virtually identical setup to yours, the only difference being that my model is a Wingmaster (near enough to a Ringmaster clone, but with a 40" span). I'm extremely happy with the SS30, although it's a ridiculous amount of power in a 28oz model. Lots of fun though [photo not recovered: devil.gif] I believe the SS30 is somewhat underrated, given that it offers plenty of power, isn't too heavy, and has a very reasonable price. It would probably work very well in a classic 35-size stunter, as long as you didn't want to run a 4-2-4.

I currently own an SS15, SS25, SS30 and SS35 Ring (plus a used SS40 R/C which I've only ever run once). One thing I've noticed with these motors is that they don't seem to need the extended break-in that Enyas are renowned for.

I open up the venturi a bit more and I am getting even more reliable power.

My S-1 Ringmaster do very well in the worst winds and in the hottest day no problemoooo.

Last year it was embarrassing for some fellas when I got in the circle and gracefully flew the complete pattern several times while the bravest one couldn’t pass the H8 with their best CLPA model

John Miller drew a reduced version of the Pathfinder Profile so I could bundle with the Enya SS30 down here. I can sell the printed plan that has 3 sheets, one with the pattern to cut all the necessary parts.

I think this will be the best combo for some one who is beginning, specially because it is such a friendly and sturdy engine.

I should point out also that Enya has a reverse crank for this engine, so you can use the torque in your favor and it would be the perfect egnine for a twin project.

Do you think an Enya SS30 can power a stock Sig Banshee?

A stock Banshee does well with a Fox 35. This engine has way more power than a Fox 35. I think it would be a good combination.
