Carl Shoup's swaging pliers

These are great! Unlike crimping pliers which only crimp in one spot, these shrink (or swage) the entire diameter. Important! You do not swage the entire length of the tubing, you must leave an unshrunk portion on each end of the tubing. This prevents stress risers which may cause the lines to break.

Mine just arrived - got one of esach size. Carl produces really great, accurately-made stuff!

Remember to de-burr the inside edges of the tubing before swaging . . .

I have one also. They are a great tool.

Will it swage brass and copper tube and up to what size???

I have two sets one for 1/16" tubing and one for 3/32" tubing I do not like brass tubing because it is to hard and it splits I have found that the copper tubing forms in to the cable.

Received my set today, and am pleased as punch, tickeled pink, a happy camper, etc, etc, Thanks Carl

What are the two sizes used for??? The 1/16" for 1/2A, and the 3/32 for anything larger? Thanks.

I am so pleased with them I will be adding them to the new Victory kits

I just got my pair (1/16 & 3/32) today and they are indeed great. I've already made up 4 pairs of lines, very easy to use and get great results every time. Thanks Carl.

I have seen reference to these pliers in a number of places but no information on where to actually get them.

So, where do get these swaging pliers?

Where can I get them and how much?

So what is the trick preventing the cable from sliding out. I can't seem to put enought pressure on the tubing to make a good grip. The plyers seem light duty for this type of work.
Does anyone know of a commercial American made type of tool for swagging the tubing.
