Using firewalls

One of the biggest problems we have experienced with people trying to register or even use some of the other functions of the forum is firewalls. The forum needs to talk to the computer and sometimes the firewall keeps this from happening. Most every firewall, however, has a setting that will allow this to function properly. I am wondering if those of you who have experienced problems with firewalls and this forum and found the solution could post here what system they were using and what settings they needed to change.

(And I already have a hardware firewall myself, but planning to add a software one as well pretty soon).

I am still waiting myself for those with various firewalls to post what the needed settings are. In Him's case, if the firewall is set up by someone else who alone controls its functions, he may need to go through them.

On your question on numbers, there evidently were two previous posters who may have posted in the wrong spot. I have occasionally had people post here who do not wish to register or simply do not know what they are supposed to do. I will then point them in the right direction but will remove the post from this forum since it is for the purpose of giving help only.

I'm probably the only one with this problem but..........
for the past week or so the threads are listed in reverse sequence - oldest first and most current last. I have to select the last page and then scroll down to the bottom of the last page to read the most current posting. I don't see any parameter that controls this in my user menu so I have no idea how to resolve this.

I guess it all depends whether it's your own personal firewall at home, or the company's firewall on the company's computer, during the company's time.

If you can access Stuka, etc at work, the firewall isn't doing it's job.

Len helped me with that problem a while back, so I'll pass the information on to you in appreciation.

At the top line of the forum headings, are various functions that were not readily apparent to me. One of them changes the sort order of the messages. Each column in fact has functions like that, and clicking on the text (or icon) enables that function.

At the top of the "Last updated date" column, there is a little triangle icon just to the right of the text. Click on that icon to change the sort order, either newest first, or oldest first.
