With the new system I get notified that I have a new message in my inbox. I went in my inbox and there was no new message but I deleted the latest one. When I went out of my inbox to the main forum it still shows I have a new messsage. I can;t get rid of that notice even after reloading my puter and also going out of the forum and returning.

This is a default thing from switching over to the new software. Everyone will get such a notice at first since all messages from the past are "new" to this software (hence the notice).
When you go to your inbox to check your messages you will notice at the top the message of "Click here to mark inbox messages as read"
Go to your inbox, do that, and then the new message flag will go away. Each time you get a new message in this way, you will need to do that again.
