First off, make sure that you are set to accept cookies. Some programs will automatically wipe out all of your cookies and if you have one of them, get rid of it. (Some cookies are bad, granted, but there is a purpose for them, too. You need them here.)
Next, go to the user menu at the top of the forum and on the preferences on the left side make sure that you have it checked "yes" to keep you logged on. These are the two things that I know that would keep you from staying logged on if they are checked wrong.
I might add, you were not logged on when you posted this message. If you are not logged on, you cannot edit, either.
