Domain name misconfiguration?

Bob and Leonard,

Ever since your migration, there are two different domain names popping back up - "www.clstunt.com" and plain old "clstunt.com" . It doesn't seem to cause a problem aside from having to log in in two different domains to set the appropriate cookies. The main forum seems to still work at "www..." but the messages are under "clstunt.com".

As you recall, this was an issue before. This time it seems to not cause any functional problems once you set the cookies for both versions. But this MAY be the reason a few people noted the "can't log in" or "have to log in twice" problems.

It is interesting that you noticed this. I normally enter the forum at
http://www.clstunt.com/cgi-bin/dcforum/dcboard.cgi
but as you have pointed out, this works now as well:
http://clstunt.com/cgi-bin/dcforum/dcboard.cgi

Before we had a problem with one or the other and had the people use the appropriate one. When one clicks on the individual forums, the software link takes one to the forum without the www heading to keep everything consistent, but we are able to enter the lobby from either direction now. Good to point that out.

Bottom line, if you are having problems, go to your cookies and delete both cookies under clstunt.com and www.clstunt.com. When you log in again, a new cookie will be created and all should function as normal.

Understood - it functions just fine. But it does make my cookie management a little bit more difficult, since now when I go in to prune the others, I have to leave both sets. Not insurmountable problem.

But it has another possible aspect - you sometimes have to log in twice, once to the www.*** addresses, and the "clstunt.com" addresses. So you can *seem* to log in, successfully, but then go to a page using the other domain, and be, apparently logged out again. I figured it out quickly enough, since I knew what to look for, but I can see it being a definite confusion factor if you don't get what's going on.
