For those of you who want to follow along with John Miller, but don't want to spend the thousands of dollars for Autocad or the hundreds of dollars for Bricscad or Intellicad, there is a CAD program distributed by Progesoft that uses the Intellicad engine. Translated, it is the closest program to Autocad in terms of commands, functionality, etc. available.
And, there is a fully functional version that is available for free download and use providing you are not a business or use it for a profit.

I am very impressed with this program. For the desigining of model airplanes, it has just about all the functionality you need.
And, its free for personal use.
