Hi Guys,
About 25 or so years ago I bought a modeling knife from Model Builder magazine. It was called a Uber Skiver. Does anyone know if blades for this knife are still available? Are the blades for this knife the same as scalpel blades?

Perhaps BN knows something. There's no mention of the knives in his latest catalogs. I wonder where I stored my handle set? Really nice tool.

Jim, I don't know where you live but if you are in So. California go to the AMA show in January. There is a guy at this show that sells Uber Skiver's every year.

I live in the Chicago area, so CA. is out of the question for me. I do go to the Toledo RC show every year. Possibly this vendor is also at Toledo. I will look for him this spring.

So far as I know they are standard surgical blades. Should be available from your doctor at worst, and medical supply houses, some of which are on the net. Try a search on "scalpels", "medical supplies", "surgical blades", etc.

I got surgical tubing for combat bladders that way.

They sell scapel blades and a bunch of other stuff. You want the #11 in non steril carbon steel. I seem to remember a price like $20 something for 100 blades.
