Remember a thread on ink pens for panel lines. I tried search different ways and didn't find what I was looking for. Anyone know where thread is or have any tips on inexpensive pens for drawing panel lines? Thanks

Tony: yes and they rock! I've been meaning to e-mail you, but it's mid football/cheerleading season and work has been swamping me. The gear was perfect length and rake. When vector and Legacy #2 are painted, I'm going to build pants and fairings for the new gear. I installed gear at the field when I got it and didn't tighten inboard wheel enough and lost it on takeoff. Managed to make a fairly decent landing on one wheel, though. Like the Olympic a lot. The .46 LA hasn't let me down on any plane it's been on.
I found several disposable "drafting" pens at the various office supply stores around here. Best bet, for me, is looking in the locally owned ones that supply more towards the architects. Office Max, Staples, etc., have some. I got a ridiculous deal on evilbay for a full set of barely used Rapidograph pens, so I haven't looked lately. The Sanford pen company makes silver "metallic markers" marked "slim tip" that would great on dark colors. Can't remember the other companies, but a couple appear to be German based.

Something I discovered doing the inklines on the last plane. I picked up a 6 pack of Sharpie Fine Point pens. They are about .01. They work just like the much more expensive drafting pens I bought, but the ink seems to flow a bit better on slicker surfaces and the really nice thing was it was absolutely permanent 5 or 10 mintues after doing a line. The bad news was, if you make a mistakes and mess around much, it's really hard to get off. But it sure cuts down on smudges and accedental wipes.
